Hanging on the telephone

Published

Parents may be spending more time on their mobile phones than children would like, says Childcare.co.uk. In a survey, parents were asked to anonymously submit their screen time usage and it was found that, on average, they spent three hours a day on their phones – and much of that time was on Facebook or Instagram. Children aged 5+ were asked how they felt about this, and more than half said they would like parents to pay less attention to the phone – and more to them!

Childcare.co.uk is a platform that allows parents to search for and connect with babysitters, childminders, nannies, nurseries and private tutors and allows childcare providers to advertise their services. The site has more than 1.5 million users nationwide.
